Hi, I’m Peter Tay.

I’m a chemist and biochemist with more than 30 years of experience in analytical chemistry, biological safety, water science, and laboratory operations. My career spans municipal water districts, environmental laboratories, university research environments, and industrial plating facilities.

I’ve worked extensively with advanced instrumentation — including ICP‑MS, AA, GC‑MS, HPLC, NMR, UV‑Vis, TOC, IC, and TRAACS — and have performed metals analysis, wet chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, and microbiology. My background includes purifying DNA/RNA/proteins, culturing plant and animal tissues, and conducting microbial assays such as total coliform and single‑clone isolation.

As a Registered Biosafety Officer and Certified Chemical Hygiene Officer, I’ve developed and managed comprehensive biosafety and chemical safety programs, written SOPs, revised Chemical Hygiene Plans, and ensured compliance with NIH, CDC, OSHA, and EPA requirements.

Across my roles — from chemist to safety manager to environmental monitoring technician — I’ve built a reputation for accuracy, problem‑solving, and strong documentation. I’ve trained technicians, supervised field workers and students, and supported laboratory audits, quality control programs, and regulatory reporting.

I also bring a solid foundation in computer science, with experience in C++, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, networking, and LIM systems. My technical background helps me streamline data workflows, improve digital recordkeeping, and support modern laboratory information systems.
